Welcome to our Dam page. What is crucial in a dam is good mothering instincts, plenty of milk, good conformation and sound genetics. We're very proud of our girls and would like to tell you a bit about each one.

High Acres Sarai Soft and Silky

HLM Ransom x RSR Strawverry Shortcake

Sarai is a great PR llama. Here she is at the 2001 Christmas Parade. She was shown as a juvenile and won a ribbon. By the way, she's not spoiled at all!! When I say that my friends all say "Yeah Right!"

Sarai had her first cria, High Acres Erik the Red on 3-2-03.

Sarai gave birth to her second cria on April 2, 2006. Here she is with Lou April. Sarai had her third cria in April of 2008, a beautiful spotted female that has done well in the show ring in both halter and obstacle classes. Here is a picture of Naomi with her new owner, Anna.

Sarai got unintentionally bred in late July of 2008 and will be having a mid summer cria 2009.

I've always loved appaloosas so when I took a trip to Celebrity April 2005, I purchased SSRMT Tapestry (on the left) and picked up GHLC Maggie Mae (on the right) previously purchased.

Don Divo x HCLA Bolivian Belinda                   GC's Banana's Foster x LCF Messiah

Both girls jumped out of the trailer and started munching on anything green.  They both come from a much colder and snowy climate than they found here in Texas.

Tapestry's first cria was born March 29, 2006, sired by our stud Stargazer's Valentino. Tino is white but his appie genetics are working. See his appaloosa son here.

Maggie's dad Banana's Foster is well known in the show ring, and she is close to being a reverse appie color.  They have beautiful faces and certainly light up our pasture.

Each girl is sweetly dispositioned and had no trouble joining the female herd. In fact both will let me pet and brush them without restraint and come up and nuzzle my neck.

Maggie had her first cria Obadiah last Spring. You can see his picture on the cria page. She's currently open but Tapestry is due to have a cria in March of 2009.

High Acres Abrianna
Whist x Serena's Serendipity

Abbie  was born here and is a keeper since her father is a new bloodline on our farm AND she's so great! She is still very sweet and though I love them all, she is fast becoming my one of my favorite llamas here because of her very calm nature. She's also quite large and we made the decision to breed her to Sogno in the spring of 2004. We were excited to see what a mix of Whist and Merit genes produced.  Her son A Song in the Night, born in the spring of 2005 is featured on our cria page.  Abbie gave birth to another sweet and beautiful Sogno son on March 16, 2006. We bred Abbie to our stud Sogno for a Spring 2009 cria.

FFF Count Me In

Chilean Canoso x RAR Chilean Count On It

Tess as she is called around the ranch is our latest addition to our female herd. She has great genetics, but she's also very sweet and an easy birther. I wanted to start a line of smaller llamas that aren't intimidating to new owners and she fits the bill. She was bred to The Force, a beautiful silver stud owned by CTERS Llamas.  She finally gave birth on April 16, around 5:30 PM to a beautiful black male cria with silver tips to his ears and silver threads on other parts of his body. He's an unusual color and very sweet personality like Tess has. You can see  his picture on our Cria page.

Tess is due with her next cria by our stud Sogno in late February 2009.

I don't recommend entering the breeding business for quick profit and glory. I have been reading and learning all I can about llamas and this business, and recommend only breeding if you truly love the animals and are willing to give good homes for life to all llamas you allow to come into existence that may not sell. But there really is nothing cuter than a baby llama! My breeding program (with occasional exceptions) will allow each female to have a year off between crias. I usually wait until the females are 2½ years old before breeding to make sure they are emotionally and physically mature.
