High Acres Sale Llamas

We have very few llamas for sale and it's really important to us that each llama we sell will go to a loving home.  We also do not sell llamas to be all alone.  We're willing to deliver within 50 miles of Fredericksburg.

Currently I'm sold out of llamas. The last cria sold in early May. Check back however as I may be featuring llamas from a friend's ranch. My own new crop of crias will start arriving in late February or early March 2009.

I'd like to make a comment on llamas for sale and my llama pricing. Here at High Acres I have llamas that would not be for sale at any price! These llamas are considered my companions and friends. That's what I'd like the llamas I sell to become to their new owners. Consequently time is spent with each cria from the day it is born to insure that the cria will accept proper handling from it's next owner. It will be haltered, led, taught to load, allow it's feet to be picked up, and allow if not even enjoy the time spent in getting brushed.  It will also be taught to stand quietly when tied, though I never recommend leaving any llama tied without supervision. I choose my breeders for calm traits that will carry over to their offspring.  Over the years I've been willing to invest in high quality llamas so that the llama you might get from me could be a fine show animal or future breeder if you decide to go that route.  For these reasons, the minimum price I charge for my llamas is $500 for young weanling males and $800 for young weanling females, and can go up depending on the llama. If you're interested in acquiring a beautiful and calm llama, any inquiries are encouraged and appreciated.  You can find stories from previous clients on my "What do you do with a llama" page.

The first new cria of the year was born 10 days early on February 1 to Maggie, and he has been sold, though he can't leave home until he is 6 months old. Abbie unfortunately had a placenta previa and the baby was stillborn. Sarai had a beautiful baby girl on March 3, and she has just sold to a great family.

Stargazers Valentino # 251902 x GHLC Maggie Mae # 256626

This is High Acres Obadiah, born February 1, 10 days earlier than expected. He started out small, and with floppy ears, but they are looking good now, except for the ends which tip a little. It only makes him more endearing. He is shown here at 17 days old. He's an appaloosa, but not as loud as his mother. I also think he will always be small.

He is offered for sale but of course can't leave his mom until he is at least 6 months old.

He will be trained to lead and load and allow brushing, by the time he can leave home.

His dad is Stargazer's Valentino and his mom is Maggie Mae out of GC's Banana's Foster.

SOLD- Thanks and congratulations to Claudia Ragels, Ragels Ziegenhof, for purchasing this beautiful little guy!

Vincent Mauvelous ILR# 138633 born 10/8/1993

Though she is 14 years old, Mauve has always been healthy. She has produced 6 healthy babies, most recently Spring of 2007. You can see his picture here.

Mauve is a very sweet and calm llama that likes to be brushed. She's also shorter than full sized llamas. When bred to a male with strong appaloosa genetics she has produced very colorful appies. You can see the results here and here.

The photo to the left was shot 3/29/08. Here is another full body shot of her last year.

SOLD- Thanks and congratulations to Nikki Hudson in Austin.

Luckenbach's Delilah ILR# 230666 born 4/7/2001

To the left is Delilah. She is pictured here with a complete haircut and her first and only cria from Spring of 2007. Delilah will stand calmly just tied to a fence for shearing.

She's a bit shy but is calm on lead and leads and loads well.

SOLD-Thanks and congratulations to Nikki Hudson in Austin.

Stargazers Valentino # 251902 x High Acres Sarai Soft and Silky # 219080

This is High Acres Naomi, ILR # 273109. Sometimes when Naomi sees you with a camera she will come right up to you to check it out. She's always running, jumping and kicking up her heels and seems to love life. She was born on March 3, and so far never meets a stranger. She also has a lot of presence. Her back is full of red appaloosa spots. You can see other pictures of her on the cria page.

Here is a picture of Naomi and I on April 5 after I finished with her leading lesson. We're having a little talk. A picture of her prior to her summer haircut is here. In the picture to the left her mom is in the background eating from a tree, but you can see she got a full body haircut.

Naomi is being offered at $1000 and will be able to leave home after she's 6 months old.

SOLD- Congratulations and thank you to the Leslie family of LaVernia, Texas.
